Jordan, 23, & Shelly, 19

We are brother and sister in a family of six children. Our mom was diagnosed when I (Jordan) was 17 and my sister Shelley was 14. We were devastated at the thought of losing our mother. For two years, we helped care for our Mom, but we coped with the situation in very different ways. One took on the role of caregiver with a high degree of participation, while the other found the need to retreat more. Our strong relationship with our Dad and our enduring faith helped us to get through our Momís illness and her death, and to be optimistic about the future.
